About Erin Thomas-Walker
Erin understands firsthand that maternal health, sleep, and evidence-based postpartum support make a measurable difference for brand new parents. Her background is not in healthcare, it’s in high finance. Before opening Let Mommy Sleep Chicago, Erin spent a decade as a banker. That professional discipline, combined with her personal experience of postpartum recovery and her deep commitment to maternal wellbeing, is what drives the quality of care her locations deliver.
A few things worth knowing about Erin:
• Mother of three
• Postpartum doula and peer lactation counselor
• Has contributed to the Washington Post, KWCH-TV News, and Authority Magazine
• Has owned Let Mommy Sleep Chicago since May 2020
• Now operating in Detroit, Ann Arbor, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Indiana
"There is a stigma about postpartum depression and mental health in the African American community. Let Mommy Sleep provides a service that allows new parents to sleep comfortably while their newborn is cared for. A service like Let Mommy Sleep can be the first step in parents caring for themselves." — Erin Thomas Walker
About Let Mommy Sleep
Let Mommy Sleep began in Washington, DC in 2010. With consistent demand for professional postpartum support, the company has grown into a nationally recognized network now operating in 26 protected territories across the United States.
The goal of Let Mommy Sleep is to elevate the standard of overnight newborn care and postpartum support for families across Michigan and the country. All caregivers are required to hold evidence-based newborn and postpartum care certification, infant safe sleep certification aligned with AAP guidelines, current CPR and First Aid, and up-to-date vaccinations including pertussis. Background screening is required for every member of every team.
These standards are not informal. They are guided by an Advisory Board of Registered Nurses established in 2016 and documented in The State of Newborn Care policy paper, published on SSRN by Let Mommy Sleep founder Denise Iacona Stern. By maintaining this level of accountability, Let Mommy Sleep attracts both exceptional caregivers and the families who most need them.
Detroit and Ann Arbor families can now access overnight newborn care, postpartum visits by Registered Nurses, and newborn care classes through the same nationally recognized brand that has supported families since 2010. Contact Let Mommy Sleep Detroit.
