Nationally Recognized Brand
Evidence-based overnight newborn care, nationally standardized since 2010.
Founded in Washington, DC in 2010, Let Mommy Sleep licenses motivated operators to run local businesses under national standards for newborn safety and evidence-based care.
What It Costs and How It Works:
Let Mommy Sleep Licensing
The U.S. postpartum care market generates $2.78 billion annually and is projected to reach $3.9 billion by 2030. Let Mommy Sleep has spent 15 years building the national standard for how that care is delivered, and licensing it to operators who want to lead their market.
Business Details
This page covers the full picture: what a local Let Mommy Sleep business is, what it costs, what you own and what LMS provides to support you..
What the Business Is
A Let Mommy Sleep location connects families with professionally vetted overnight newborn care night nannies, newborn care specialists, postpartum doulas and Registered Nurses, during the first weeks and months after a baby is born. Services are delivered in the family's home, typically overnight.
Let Mommy Sleep also coordinates postpartum visits by Registered Nurses in the family home.
What the Owner Role Looks Like
There are three core responsibilities:
Workforce leadership: recruiting, vetting, training, and managing your caregiver team. LMS provides the standards and training framework. You build and lead the people.
Case management: coordinating caregiver assignments, managing family schedules, handling client intake, and overseeing care delivery. Proprietary software supports this.
Community relationships: building your referral network with OB/GYN offices, pediatricians, lactation consultants, birth doulas, and hospitals. This is your primary client acquisition channel and it is ongoing, central work
Cost to Open
Territory license: $19,000, one time fee. This covers your exclusive protected territory, onboarding training and full setup before your first client. Territory size is defined by county using birth rate and household income data, intentionally larger than traditional home health agency territories. Financing is available through Affirm for qualified applicants.
Monthly Fee
$600 flat — no royalties. Covers: technology and proprietary software, lead routing from national brand traffic, social media management, website hosting and security, 24/7 IT support, and Newborn Care Academy access for you and your team. There are no royalties on your revenue at any level. No percentage of gross. No surprises. What you earn beyond $600/month is yours.
Territory Protection
Every territory is exclusive and protected by zip code. Inbound inquiries from any LMS channel route directly to you. No other licensee operates in your territory. No national call center intercepts your clients. Territory boundaries are defined before you sign. See available territories
Timeline to Open
Most owners open within 6–8 weeks of signing. The variable is how quickly business licensing and insurance documentation move in your state. Training and market setup are completed before you accept your first client.
What LMS Handles
Your $600/month covers: Your website, email, credit card platform, national brand SEO driving inbound inquiries to your territory, proprietary documentation software, social media management, website hosting and security, 24/7 IT support line, Newborn Care Academy for ongoing team education, national partnerships and a full marketing and promotions library.
Support does not stop at onboarding and operational guidance continues as your business grows.
Do you need a clinical background?
No. Successful owners come from healthcare administration, nursing, business leadership, education, social services, and birth work. If you are an RN or NP, you can maintain your clinical position while building your territory — many do. What you do need: organizational discipline, people leadership, and a genuine commitment to your market. This is not a passive investment or an absentee owner model.
Who this Works For
Organized, mission-driven operators who want to lead a business with real community impact. Backgrounds that translate well: healthcare administration, nursing, business and corporate leadership, education and social services, birth work and existing home health agency ownership. If you already operate a home health or home care agency, adding LMS newborn care services is a direct entry into a private-pay market segment with faster revenue recognition than Medicaid-reimbursed services.
